This thesis gives a comprehensive and systematic analysis about the semi-submersible vessels transport organization and cost-effectiveness issues on huge heavy cargo. Integrated domestic and foreign research and combined with actual situation, we gave the way of semi-submersible vessels transport organization and its appropriate cost-benefit.Firstly, according to the transport of semi-submersible vessels background, review research situation at home and abroad, explained on this basis, the significance of this study, proposed focus on content.Secondly, found out the market suppliers and demanders to explore the market information of the semi-submersible barge. For the supply side, we list the world’s existing semi-submersible boat and gave the shipping ability of the global semi-submersible vessels through comprehensive data acquisition. For demand side, we analyzed their transport demand, according to industry classification.Thirdly, this thesis made study in two aspects:business processes and operating procedures. We showed the business process of semi-submersible vessels in accordance with the sequence of inquiry, offer, and verification. We divided the operation procedure into three parts according to the present shipping status and detailed the various stages of the operation process. We also developed the corresponding preventive and solving measures for the problem we might encounter.Fourth, since the market of semi-submersible vessels is relatively closed, laymen know little about its cost-effectiveness. In the fourth chapter, the cost of transportation would be introduced in details. We also analyzed and calculated the actual case of cost-effectiveness of the semi-submersible, In comparison with wet-tow and other special ships the economic benifits and transportation advantages of semi-submersible vessels were highlighted which offer the reference for the investor.Fifth, by thorough studying the semi-submersible vessels transport, we found some problems in operations processes of semi-submersible vessels and provided improvement suggestions.
