Liner shipping is a kind of maritime transport way with two different kinds of nature, that are certainty and uncertainty. The certainty can be reflected on the liner schedule, which can’t be changed easily as long as it is announced by liner companies. And the stability of this schedule can also reflects the quality of service and integrity of the liner company. While, there is also uncertainty, which means there are various disruption factors from internal and external experiment, and they can make the sailing deviate from the original schedule. That can lead to that the ship can’t reach the port at the planned time, which can decrease the liner punctuality rate, increase the lose of cargo owner, even damage the image of the liner company, loss the customers. This thesis is conducted from the view of uncertainty. And the problem described above is defined as vessel schedule recovery problem. It is actually a daily problem faced by the liner shipping company operators. however, now it is handled by the experience and intuition of operators. The feedback is whether the resolution is the best is not known. This thesis take advantage of the idea and theory of the disruption management. At first, make a analyzation and conclusion on the theory, scope, and the achievements of disruption management. Finally, I get inspiration from the fight recovery model, and apply its idea to the vessel schedule recovery model. First, screen the disruption factors, then determine the recovery goals, and make models. Finally, the thesis use three cases to testify the model, and make a objective evaluation and analyzation, and put forward my own idea about the future work.
