Research Of Visitors’ Perception And Evaluation Of The Linear Park Plant Landscape

With the rapid social and economic development in today’s society, urban life had brought more and more pressure to citizens. Therefor more attention had been payed to the people’s needs and yearning of the human nature itself in the choice of a way to relax and relieve the pressure. Linear Park, as one of the most day-to-day leisure activities space, close to the citizens’daily life most. With the extensive use of environmental psychology theories in the field of architecture, planning and other people’s psychological, sensory and even physiological response, the results also provides landscape design and plant landscape design a very valuable research ideas. The the content of this paper’s mainly studies is divided into two aspects:1. The general perception of the public linear parks" plant landscape: this part of the research is aim to find out the Plant Landscape sensory perception, spatial perception, risk perception and emotional perception links to visitors’percetion. By descriptive analysis and cross comparison analysis, we can conclude to the overall public perception of plant landscape and have a grasp and understanding by graphic analysis.2. The plant landscape evaluation and satisfaction of the public linear parks’plant landscape:This part of the study is to find out a more detailed quantitative evaluation for four representative cities linear park plant landscape. The research was carried out by two methods, Scenic Beauty Estimation procedure (SBE) and Semantic Differential method (SD). The survey content is consisted of plant landscape spatial characteristics, ornamental characteristics and visitors’psychological feelings evaluation. By regression analysis, correlation analysis and factor analysis, we can find out the impact factor of the visitors preferences on the linear park plant landscape.The study results showed that:1. Findings about the public perception of the plant landscape:the color and shape of the plant is two main factors to attract visitors to the attention;2or3plant color combination received most visitors’love; ilower shape and overall shape of trees are the most important ornamental features that attract the visitors attention; the recreation areas with more tree-lined and green block are more popular among visitors; plants’thorns, pests and unclean sense is the most important factor to cause visitors to risk perception.Perception study results reflect the general perception of the visitors" aesthetic orientation, physiological responses and security space requirements for plant landscape.2. Results of the public scenic beauty evaluation and satisfaction evaluation on linear parks shows that visitors with different professional background evaluated the plant landscape with no significant difference. Tree area, shrub area and plant species are the three most impact factors that influence visitors on the evaluation of plant space. What’s more, the impact of public linear park plant landscape satisfaction factors are plant factor, cognitive factors and activity factors; park plant landscape features and visitors psychological feeling was a significant correlation.The result of evaluation and satisfaction research shows that by improving the aesthetic effect of the linear park plant landscape and combining plants features reasonably, can play a positive impact for the visitors psychological feelings and activities performance.
