Residential District Empty Space Landscape Design Based On Environmental Perception

Empty space landscape is a very important part of the urban green space system, and it is the most close leisure landscape environment to the people and one of the place where human activities are frequent. With the acceleration of urbanization process in china, empty space has become the buffer zone of our fast-paced city life because of its unique space utilization, landscape construction, comfortable and quiet environment, and the landscape environmental quality of empty space affects our physiology, psychology and communication needs directly. So the development of the empty space landscape has get more attention, and improving the landscape environment of empty space has become an important means of marketing to developers in this fierce market competition.Environmental Perception, as an important branch of Environmental Psychology, uses the psychology of perception to discuss the interaction and the function between people and environment, behavior and the environment; Integrating the environment perception theory into the empty space landscape design in the city, and the theory, characteristics and influence factors combine with design methods which forms a set of mature landscape design mode, and it will become the development trend of the empty space landscape design.From this perspective, this thesis will be divided into seven chapters to discuss the theory of perception and the empty space landscape design. Firstly, the thesis describes the research background, purpose and significance, research content and scope, research methods and technical routes and the related topic research of the domestic and foreign; Then comes the definition of some related concepts in this research and the basic theory of this research. Afterwards, this thesis analyses the empty space which including spatial constitution, spatial characteristics, spatial features and spatial type and resolves the empty space landscape perception experience from three aspects (the formation of environment perception experience in empty space landscape, the type of environment perception experience and the influencing factors of perceptual experience); At last, we choose the typical representative of empty space landscape design application cases in ChangSha for on-the-spot investigation and summarize the shortcoming of the existing empty space landscape space design and then verify the feasibility of the proposed empty space landscape design system based on environmental perception. We research the empty space landscape design of GuiTangHe provincial authorities residential quarters in ChangSha to test the proposed theory.The increasing practice shows that the landscape design has changed from the single aesthetic form expression to people’s inner demand creation. The people-oriented empty space landscape design by combining the subject of environment perception experience with the object landscape space in an interdisciplinary, multi-angle way will have a broader development space in the future.
