| The living environment is not only a carrier of human history and culture, but also thebasic survival and activity space, which is sought by human beings in different historicalperiods. When human society develops to a certain degree, the requirements to livingenvironment are not only focused on practical function and beautiful form, but also onspiritual enjoyment, which means it can bring the aesthetic sensibility of thinking topeople’s life.With relevant literature as theory basis, and after various on-spot investigations,through this paper we will discuss the auspicious symbol’s application to landscapedesign from several aspects. Using the auspicious meaning as research object, this paperanalyses these auspicious symbols in traditional living environment and its inheritance,application and innovation in modern living environment.Starting from the historical origins of the auspicious symbols, this paper explains theconnotation of this auspicious symbol and its auspicious meaning in traditional landscapedesign, then we get a comprehensive analysis to all these design elements in modern livingenvironment like landform, water, rocks, plants, construction, pavement, environmentalfacilities and sketch. Finally, two complete cases will show us a concrete analysis and acomprehensive in-depth discussion. |
