Research Of Tactonic Meaning On Cave Dwelling Landscape Of Shanxi

Cave dwelling is a traditional mode of living of residents whom dwell in loess plateau of northwest of China since 4000 years ago to the 21 century today.Thanks to the thousand-meter-thick loess of this area,those native residents could utilize,transform and control the land resources creatively and effectively.Thus generated an unique dwelling form,cave dwelling.In spite of the increasing of urbanization and industrialization of today,cave dwelling is still one of the main dwelling form of different countries,especially in a developing country.In recent years,earth construction has called attention by its wide applicability and variable regional traits as the green building conception and sustainable development idea had engrained in people's mind.In this study,several typical cave dwellings of Shan Xi province with the surrounding landscape of them were selected,and the development history,architectural form,landscape programming,residents and their aesthetic requirements of these objects were explored.From this the majority of landscape environment of cave dwellings of Shan Xi province were analyzed and tactonic meaning of them were discussed.Along with time changes and the improvement of people's living standards,it was ascribed the trend that residents whom abandoned their traditional cave dwelling to the quest of urban life and the bearing of living environment changes.On account of this situation,here are 3 main idea of this thesis.Primarily,it has become a very urgent and realistic issue that how to induct the acceptance of the traditional architectural culture heritage of villagers.Posteriorly,the psychology changes and new demand of urban residents to the traditional aesthetic had become one of the shortslab of this field.Last but not least,the research on the change of cave dwelling landscape elements and the cognize of its symbol construction may bring an important opportunity to solve the problem of this human settlement.From the theory of Landscape Architecture,this research analyzed cave dwellings and surroundings of several typical region of Shan Xi province.As a result of rapid modern development,cave dwelling,which carrying the traditional culture of China,was confronted growing contradictions with the quest of life quality and environmental quality of the civilians.Because of the shortcomings such as insufficient of natural daylighting,poor ventilation,roof collapse,leakage and weakness of earthquake resistance,cave dwelling become more and more difficult to reach the need of modern lifestyle.Based on the above reasons,it is an increasing trend that people abandoned their cave dwelling and built brick houses instead.In this case,it has become a worthy of in-depth discussion topic that how to protect and utilize these earth construction resources efficaciously and thus led the residents to realize the superiority of cave dwelling living environment.
