With the increasing application of high-speed EMU, High-speed trains in China have been popularized. And the key technology of the high-speed train is still the core issue that’s restricting the localization of the high-speed train. As one of the key points, braking technology is still monopolized by foreign manufacturers. Independent research of the braking equipments have been the primary task of our domestic brake manufacturers. The main traditional method is testing which costs both much time and money. However, the braking system simulation via computer can not only analysis and evaluate the system, but also save a lot of time and money. This article tracked and analyzed the braking technology development in China and abroad. Referring to EMU Harmony, this paper described the composition and function of the brake system of high-speed EMU.The brake system is an electro-pneumatic brake system controlled via the electric command given by computer. This paper modeled and analyzed the characteristics of the electro-pneumatic valve, pressure limiting valve and relay valve which are the main components of the braking system(BCU) by the software named AMESim. It used PID feedback controlling modulated by PWM pulse for the electro-pneumatic valve which could let the control be more precise. It modeled the brake system of one vehicle, simulated the braking processes with the same initial speed200km/h under different braking levels. And it compared, analyzed the result braking force, deceleration and brake cylinder pressure changes, used frequency-fixed current as driving and braking period as a controlling factor, this paper studied the performance of the braking system. finally proved the simulated model right. This paper used the AMESim and SIMULINK together to model and analyze the anti-skid system. It simulated single and multiple slip during the braking process, and compared the result with the performance without anti-skid system, found it work well to improve the performance quality of braking system. It used SOLIDERWORKS to build the3D model of the basic braking disc, and put imported the model to ANSYS to analyze the temperature distribution and thermal stress on it. The result showed it meet the requirements of its maximum temperature and maximum stress.
