What is researched in this article is a popular transportation equipment and the driving wheel is the main target. The transportation equipment could transport cargos with driving wheels and sliding plates.Sliding plate transportation system uses frictional force for driving force, driving wheels such as main driving wheels, quick driving wheels and brake driving wheels are the core parts. The rim of wheel is made up from polyurethane which is complex macromolecule materials. Its mechanical behaviors are great nonlinear and wheel-plate contact area is very small. Contact behaviors are complex in the process. Besides, driving wheels suffer periodic loads in the process, which will lead to fatigue failure. Fatigue performance has big effects on the lifetime of structure. As soon as the loads initial cracks come into beginning develop, the physical performance drops. It is not only necessary to do strength analysis, but also to do lifetime analysis.Firstly, the article does detail finite element analysis for the driving wheels with CATIA V5, Hypermesh11.0and Abaqus6.10in standard condition. The analysis concludes stress and deformation. Then under different friction coefficients the article makes detail comparison and gets friction coefficient effect on structure strength. Finally, on this basis the article makes regular explorations for lifetime of driving wheel with the purpose of regularity. The analysis results of the article could provide for guidance of material and size.
