This paper does a research on the background of waste of straw resources and development ofecological construction, aim at visible phenomena of water seepage, mildew and rot at the bottomof wall, windowsill and door case choose straw bale and straw bale wall as research abject, have ananalyse on hygroscopicity of straw bale and decomposition of straw bale wall. Meanwhile, thispaper propose that a system of rural ecological and energy-saving residential construction, which isavailable to the severely cold while, basing on the research achievements before and taking theadvantage of straw bale straw bale which is a new kind of building materials. Specific researchperformance is below:Under the dry and constant-temperature condition, the straw bale moisture content curve isdecreasing while drying time preceding and moisture evaporation rate is gradually smaller. Thestraw bale hygroscopicity curve is basically increasing in linear. Moisture absorption rate isgradually smaller with time, and affected by temperature and air humidity. Low temperature, thehumidity is very useful to straw bale moisture absorption.The decomposition of straw bale is related to straw bale moisture content, humidity andoxygen content in air. In the identical circumstance, straw bale wall with high moisture content areeasier to mildew and rot. Under the high-humidity circumstance, straw bale will have hygroscopiceffect, decomposition easily happen. Ventilation is conducive to the evaporation of water in thestraw bale, low Moisture content Reduce the likelihood of straw bale wall rot. A small amount ofoxygen is conducive to the occurrence of the straw bale mildew. In the straw bale mildew reaction,role of moisture content or humidity is greater than the influence of the oxygen content. Therefore,the straw bale wall plaster layer should be good permeability material to prevent mildew and rot.There are three common basic structures of the system used in Energy saving and ecologicalresidential building by straw bale: Hybrid structure of straw bale building, frame structure of strawbale building and frame-shear wall structure of straw bale building. Based on the characteristic ofenergy and environment of the severely cold region while combined with the technology of solarenergy heating,this paper proposed straw bale Trombe wall concept and use it in cold and regionalrural energy-saving eco-residential, the characteristics of residential is economic, warm in winterand cool in summer.it also provide the appropriate architectural and structural aspects of the construction measures.
