With the accelerated pace of new Countryside construction, people have a higher requirements in terms of houses’quality and function. At the same time, the backward construction methods and developing with the wind blindly has also led to a rapid growth in resource consumption. Because the underdeveloped economy and back mode of construction, red brick still occupy a major share of market of rural building materials. Large numbers of surplus corn stalks and wheat straw, and their incineration caused a great deal of pollution to the local environment, which undoubtedly would make the resources of Countryside lass and lass.This paper is on the basis of the new rural reconstruction in Gaoqiao Town, Yishui county, Linyi City. And we have made a comprehensive investigation on residence and energy-saving status of Yimeng Mountain areas. The survey found that due to the lack of long-term planning and advanced technology, and the lack of industrial construction. Most of the land use planning is unreasonable and the municipal infrastructure is unsound. And most of the rural houses have a large energy consumption and uncomfortable environment. The local houses’ problems are mainly embodied in the following aspects:(1) Poor quality construction.(2) A huge energy-consuming of building materials.(3) Lacking of energy-saving measures for rural houses.(4) Inconsistent standards and poorly professional guidance. Based on this research, we proposed the following ecological transformation principles suitable for the local houses of Yimeng Mountain areas:(1) The technology systems should effectively combine the local climate and its geographical environment.(2) The materials of wall should take advantage of local resources.(3) The construction process should be easy to grasp for local residents.(4) The building materials should be low energy consumption in the buildings’ whole life cycle.As a traditional ecological building material, straw bale is attracting an increasing number of developed and developing countries. Although the straw bale building abroad has become mature, and the International Code Council (ICC) has approved final action RB473-13(straw bale) as a new Appendix R in the upcoming2015version of the International Residential Code (IRC).The differences in domestic climatic conditions and construction methods between domestic and foreign made the wood structure straw bale buildings do not apply to domestic construction environment. Our studies of the straw bales’properties are very scarce. Moreover, there exist many obstacles on the practical construction of straw bale buildings. This thesis describes the good thermal insulation, durability, sound insulation, incombustible and compressive strength. The long development history of straw bales buildings in foreign countries is also be described. By the construction of straw bale building in Yimeng Mountain areas, we try to find suitable construction methods for the developing of ecological house in northern rural areas.Using geography, climate and available local materials in rural areas as a starting point, the thesis considered the geographical features, such as the unique cultural background, customs, construction habits and local materials, as well as some construction demand, such as the building seismic, mechanical performance, energy conservation. Then designed and built the straw bale elderly housing at Daling village, Gaoqiao town, Yishui county. The comparison test of indoor thermal environment in winter and energy saving simulation analysis by software ecotect are conducted. The paper calculated the daily energy of straw bale house, and made an economic evaluation of the energy-saving effect. Ultimately determine the feasibility of the straw bale buildings’application and promotion in Yimeng Mountain areas. The superior economics and simple construction methods and energy-efficient performance of straw bale buildings will be recognized and accepted by the majority of farmers. Then it will be popularized in more rural areas, and become the mainstream material of northern rural areas gradually.
