In the thermal power plant, DC system can provide current source for the protecting,measuring, feeder circuit and controlling equipments. The running state of DC system iscritical to safety and reliable operation of power system. Various grounding fault is the mostcommon insulation damage failure in the DC system. If the grounding point cannot be foundand eliminated, multi-point ground of the system will cause serious consequences. At present,on the one hand the DC fault detection equipment of certain thermal power plant in Daqingoil field has limited monitoring channels, cannot realize real time on-line monitoring. On theother hand, it can only realize ground fault alarming, cannot select and locate the fault lineautomatically. So this topic employs DC method to develop the DC fault detection equipmentof the thermal power plant.Test data and operation experiences shows that the DC fault detection equipment ofthis topic reach design requirements completely. This equipment can find various DCsystem faults rapidly by real-time monitoring and displaying the DC bus voltage, thus thetime of troubleshooting will be reduced. This equipment also has the function of automaticselect fault line and matched fault point located system, thus the working hours which theDC system fault locating and maintaining required will be reduced. It will improveproduction efficiency, save the cost of production, so this equipment has large promotionalvalue and very important economic and social significance.
