With the exhaustion of energy, energy-saving emission reduction has become ourcountry,s recent years working centre. The total energy consumption of China’s constructionindustry accounted for27%of all energy consumption, therefore energy-saving emissionreduction has become an important issue of the construction industry in our country. And thehe unreasonable waste of energy caused by external wall insulation system accounts for alarge part. The fire caused by the external wall insulation system is increased gradually, sohow to reduce the energy consumption and the fire disaster is the main content of this paper.Firstly, the development status of external wall insulation system has been summarizedand analyzed. The Europe external wall insulation materials and China’s external insulationmaterials has been compared. Application of new external wall insulation materials in theapplication of external insulation system is very necessary. Several large fire disasters arecaused by the failure external wall insulation materials. So the effect of heat preservation andfireproof performance should be get attention.Finite element simulation on the insulation resistance and fire resistance of Chinesecommon external wall insulation system has been analysed. The results show that Buildingexternal wall insulation system should be used in preference to less than0.05of the materialthermal conductivity and the thickness of the insulation layer in between0mm-150mm, theinsulation thickness for the thermal insulation property are influenced greatly. When theinsulation layer thickness is more than150mm, the effect of heat insulation of thermalinsulation properties is very small. The insulation characteristics is very close, if the thermalinsulation system uses the same thermal insulation materials. About the fire resistance, theEPS board is lower than the mineral wool pane insulation materials. The the mineral woolpane should be the main insulation materials.At last, the construction method of external wall insulation system has been analysed,and the advantages and disadvantages of every construction method has been summarized.This chapter can be used as a reference for the technical personnel of construction.
