In recent years, with the rapid development of economy and the acceleration of urbanization, a large number of urban living garbage processing problems need to be solved urgently. As the middle hub of urban living garbage processing system, the waste transfer station is playing a key role in solving the garbage problem.The paper has researched on the vertical compacting waste transfer station and the transport equipment, which is combined with the actual needs of Dalian city sanitation department. The technological processes of the vertical compacting waste transfer station have been researched and designed, including:weighing, feeding, compressing and transportation; The system composition of the transfer station has been designed, according to the characteristics of the technological process.Aiming at the process characteristics of the vertical compacting waste transfer station, the overall plan of the transfer vehicle has been put forward, and a new kind of transport equipments, the wire traction mechanism, has been developed. In accordance with the requirements of the vertical compacting waste transfer equipments, four function can be realized by the wire traction mechanism, including:taking up a vertical placed container, placing a container vertically, placing a container horizontally, dumping garbage. The working conditions of the wire traction mechanism have been analyzed, the dangerous working conditions have been the first condition, the second condition and the third condition. Then, the force of the three conditions has been analyzed and calculated. According to the results of force analysis and using Pro/E, Hypermesh and ANSYS to turnover mechanism of the steel wire drawing installations for the finite element calculation and analysis, the global deformation and the stress distribution of the turnover mechanism in these three working conditions has been obtained. Finally, through the finite element calculation results, it is found that the maximum equivalent stresses of the wire traction mechanism in these three working conditions both appear on the upper frame; the stress value of the collapsible frame is smaller; the stress distribution of the upper frame is relatively uniform.By using the OptiStruct solver, owning to Hypermesh,optimized dimension design for upper tipping frame, underside tipping frame and folding frame. After optimization, upper tipping frame mass reduced16.84%; underside tipping frame mass increased5%; folding frame mass reduced36.4%. Meet the requirements of the use of conditions, the total mass of the steel wire traction mechanism is changed is16.14%, which can improve the efficiency of the transport effectively.
