Today, the developing of the air conditioning system is regarded as a very important work for the automotive manufacture during the developing of a new vehicle. A great deal of tests should be done to identify and optimize the performance of air conditioning during this developing work. The quality of the air conditioning test is high expect because the design engineer and test engineer use this test result to evaluation and compare the performance of different part of the air conditioning, and meanwhile those tests are very expensive.The purpose of this thesis is to apply the six sigma method to research the way to improve the quality of air conditioning test. This research improves and modifies the process according to the DMAIC, so that the quality of air conditioning is improved significantly.To seek out the connotation and the demands of all component element of the air conditioning test quality with the method of Quality Function Deployment (QFD), define the Critical To Quality (CTQ) of the air conditioning test; determine the key input and key out put of the test process.1) Analysis the defect opportunity of the air conditioning test, establish the measurement system based on the defect opportunity to measure the test process ability. 2) Using the failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), to research the all the aspects of quality, and use the relative process methods to evaluate the input of the process and all factors which will influence the output , find the key factors which have great effect on the quality of air conditioning test. As a result of the FMEA analysis of the test process, four factors are found that is: test vehicle state, test sensor fix, test vehicle operation and test data acquisition facility.3) Take the corresponding step to improve the process of the four key factors according to its action principle.4) Modify the process of air conditioning test ensure the improvements could be applied in the future consistently. Use the practical example to identify the validity of the improvements on the process.
