In order to discuss the morphology adaptability characteristic on small intestinalmucosal structure and mucosal immunity–associated cells of Tibetan antelope whichis formed in the plateau environment of hypoxia and arcticalpine and shortage offood,This experiment compare the characteristics of adaptation of small Intestinalmucosal structure and mucosal immunity–associated cells in Tibetan antelope andTibetan sheep in different altitude by the use of histology, histochemical methodsand EM. The results were demonstrated as follows:1The lengh of small intestine villi,V/C values and thickness of intestinalmucosa of Tibetan antelopes were significantly higher than those of Tibetan sheepat different altitude (P <0.05). There is no significant difference in intestinal musclethickness between Tibetan antelope and Tibetan sheep at high altitude (P>0.05),butThere is significant difference in intestinal muscle thickness between Tibetanantelope and Tibetan sheep at low altitude.2It was found by the use of electronic microscope that intestinal villus ofTibetan antelope and Tibetan sheep both form the shape of gyrus but the shape ofgyrus of Tibetan antelope is flatter and more intesive than Tibetan sheep. In additionin the higher times we finded that gullys of the plica of Tibetan antelope were moredeeper than Tibetan sheep and the emulsion bumps of Tibetan antelope were morelittle and more intestive than Tibetan sheep.3The numbers of IELs and plasma cells in different parts of small intestine ofTibetan antelope were significantly lower (P<0.05) than that of Tibetan sheep atdifferent altitude, however the numbers of GCs and GCs in different parts of smallintestine of Tibetan antelopes were obviously higher (P <0.05) than compared tothose of Tibetan sheep at different altitude. 4The5-TH positive cells of Tibetan antelope and Tibetan sheep at differentaltitude distributed mainly among epithelial cells of intestinal glands in submucosal, and thenumbers of5-TH positive cells in Tibetan antelope were significantly lower (P<0.05)than that of Tibetan sheep at different altitude. The results above show that Tibetan antelope owns the high digestion andabsorption efficiency, and different in the ways of immune with Tibetan sheep, besides the small intestine of Tibetan antelope are not sensitive to the changes ofenvironment, which make Tibetan antelope more conductive to adapt to theenvironment of alpine-low-oxygen and shortage of food.
