Rose is the most famous ornamental plants in the word, which has a high economic value. Ground Cover Roses is a new class of Rosa cvs. with131varieties bred by foreign countries. For its remarkable traits, Ground Cover Roses has been used wildly in the garden greening.Firstly, marked achievements have been made in the collection and collation of the wild rosebush and the Ground Cover Roses both at home and abroad, summarized their detailed properties and characteristics. The cross breeding study was taken from the beginning of June to the mid of July in2010and2011respectively, with56cross combinations,2768flowers were pollinated,709fruits,2641seeds,120seedlings were obtained. Now we have separated5excellent male parents and6outstanding female parents. The excellent cross combinations are21couples, for example:Rosa canina inermisxRosa xanthina var. xanthina; Rosa canina inermisx Rosa primula; Rosa canina inermis×’Red Bells’; Rosa canina inermisx’Grouse’; Rosa canina inermis×’Jill Dando’; Rosa canina inermisx’Fiona’;’Grouse’xRosa xanthina var. xanthina;’Grouse’xRosaprimula;’Grouse’×Rosalaxa;’Partidge’xRosa xanthina var. xanthina;’Partidge’xRosa primula;’Partidge’x’Old Blush’;’Summer Sunset’xRosa xanthina var. xanthina;’Summer Sunset’xRosa primula;’Summer Sunset’x Rosa brunonii;’Jill Dando’xRosa xanthina var. xanthina;’Jill Dando’xRosa primula;’Jill Dando’x Rosa brunonii;’Fiona’xRosa xanthina var. xanthina;’Fiona’×Rosa primula;’Fiona’×’Grouse’;In order to increase the rate of seed germination, the seeds of’Jill Dando’,’Many Happy Retwins’ and Rosa canina inermis were used in this study, they were stored in the sand, being moist, with different carbon sources nutrition and treating methods added. The results showed that microbial nutrition can enhance the germination of the seeds remarkably; but there are obvious differences between species. Cane sugar is the best carbon source for’Jill Dando’and. Rosa canina inermis. However, solubility farina is the best for’Many Happy Retwins’. Besides, the nutrition added by20d showed the best germination on the three species. After the cold-storage, seeds of Rosa omeienisis were used in this study. The research designed different proportioning microbial nutrition, and then they were mixed with the seeds and the moist sands, contrasting with the control treatments. The results showed that microbial treatments could accelerate seed germination ahead of normal treatments by11-15d and increase the germinal ratio remarkably. The adaptive proportion is Cane sugar5g/L and yeast extract paste0.5g/L.The highest concentration gave the worst results. We guess it is involved with the life cycle of microbes, further research is needed to find the best proportioning nutrition. One hybrid seedling of’Partidge’×’Old Blush’、46hybrids of Rosa canina inermisxRosa xanthina var. xanthina、62hybrid seedlings of Rosa canina inermisx Rosa primula、 One hybrid seedling of’Jill Dando’x Rosa xanthina var. xanthina、5hybrids of’Jill Dando’x Rosa primula、 one hybrid of’Grouse’x Rosa xanthina var. xanthina and4hybrids of’Grouse’x’Fiona’were obtained finally. Two hybrid seedlings of Rosa canina inermisxRosa xanthina var. xanthina and one seedling of Rosa canina inermisx Rosa primula were tetraploid after the analysis by Flow Cytometry.
