Shrub is a kind of important raw materials as biomass energy, and its economic value is also very high, such as feed and industrial raw materials. There are very rich shrub resources which grow in the arid, undulating terrain sand and sand dunes in China. It’s difficult to harvest shrubs in such terrain. Shrub cutter equipment can’t meet the efficiency requirements of the harvest in China, which resulting in desertification and waste of shrub resources. So there is an urgent need for shrub cutter equipment to meet harvesting efficiency.Main contents and conclusions are as follows by a vast amount of theoretical analyses and Experimental researches:1. Considering difficulties and characteristics of shrub harvest, determined walk way, power source, cutting method, operation mode and layout of various parts of the shrub cutter equipment.2. Selected and determined various functional components of the shrub cutter. Designed gear box, hydraulic tank, cutting device, and a whole rack layout. Completed all design drawings, and finally completed the design of hydraulic track shrub cutter.3. Established a virtual prototype of the hydraulic track shrub cutter. Set shrub cutter track model, the sandy soil parameter model and traffic model. Made the trafficability simulation of hydraulic track shrub cutter. Simulated hydraulic track shrub cutter through the plains; steering; climb to15degrees,30degrees,45degrees slope; climb to15degrees,30degrees of roll slope and staggered sinusoidal road. Verified the design of hydraulic track shrub cutter in the sand has a good trafficability.
