Rehmannia glutinosa f. hueichingensis (Chan et Sehih) Hsiao is one of the Four Famous Huai Medicine. D. opp. Thunb. cv. The article made a systematic study on large-scale production techniques of virus-free plants of this famous plant. The results showed as follow:1The optimal conditions on large-scale production of virus-free plantlets were obtained.firstly,the optimal temperature was30℃, the light intensity was about2500Lx, and the pH vale was6.0.Under this conditions, tube plantlets grew quite robustly.,their leaves were dark green and became senescence slowly, chlorophyll content was higher MDA content was lower. POD activity was higher The plant height and reproductive factors were the highest.secondly,the optimal rooting medium for large-scale production techniques of virus-free plantlets was1/2MS+PP3330.2mg/L.when the PP333concentration is too low, the stem would be too thin to transplant, plants would have weak immune system and slim roots; when the concentration is too high, the plant would be too short, takindg root would need a long time and the roots would be black and brittle, broken easily.2The technology system of three levels breeding phase of virus-free plants was Established initially.The technological process was:Shooting tips virus-free plantlets? Stems with repeated subculture cutted to obtain a large number of virus-free plantlets? Productiing foundation seed (transplanting of virus-free plants in glasshouse)? productiing the original species (insects isolated net shed)? Producing of production seed (non-pathogenic soil)? Promotion and application.3Virus-free plants were growing better than non-virus-free plants,the field of were increased and their characters were improved. Results showed that virus-free plants and non-virus-free plants had the same trend in height, crown width, leaf number and maximum leaf. However,the virus-free plants were superior to the non in all the agronomic index value,which proved that the virus-free ones were suitable for growing. Physiological indicators results showed that virus-free plants had higher soluble sugar content and soluble protein but lower SOD activity and POD activity as opposed to the non-virus-free seedlings,which proved virus-free plants had low level of virus particle,and its cell ultrastructure were damaged seldomly.All of that were beneficial for the synthesis and accumulation of organic matter, virus-free plants had higher content than non-virus-freeplants in chlorophyll、carotenoid content and net photosynthetic rate.they had achieved significant differences. The yields and grade of viras-free plants were improved obviousely and their yields were promoted by77%. virus-free plants of Rehmannia glutinosa f. hueichingensis (Chan et Sehih) Hsiao were significantly prior to the non-virus-free in all the quality indicators and catalpol contents which was the main medicinal ingredients increased by32.89%.4the cost of the large-scale production of virus-free plants.were counted. each plant need0.4766yuan.Among all the costs,the capital equipment depreciation cost was the highest,along the water and electricity charges,and the medium cost was the lowest. The virus-free seed,which both retained the good traits of the virus-free plants and greatly reduced the production costs, was producted by three levels breeding phase of virus-free plants costed0.0216yuan.
