Daiyun Mountain National Nature Reserve is located in the subtropical and transition zone of the SouthAsian tropical distribution of mainland southeast coast of the southernmost tip of the largest area and theprotection of the best native Pinus taiwanensis community, biomass, carbon storage and its impact factor, to fillour countryblank in this region, therefore,Basing on the outdoor investigations and laboratory experimentstogether, this paper studies the carbon storage and carbon density of the Mt. Huang pinewood vegetation layer, thelitter layer and the soil layer three layers in the Daiyun Mountain. It makes the primary researches on carbonstorage influence factors, which makes the base on the whole Daiyun Mountain Nature Reserve Forest Systemcarbon storage and carbon balance research and provides the scientific basis for the silviculture. This paperstudies mainly in the following aspects:1、The storge of the layerThe total biomass of Pinus taiwanensis vegetation layer in Daiyun Mountain is69.26Mt: the tree layer(48.01M t)> the shrub layer (16.80M t)> the herb layer>(4.45M t); The carbon content of the tree layer indifferent organs is different, between0.474and0.535g/g, in which the branch is the maximum (0.535g/g) andthe root is the minimum (0.474g/g). The biomass sequence of different organs is: trunk (23.33M t)> roots(11.82Mt)> branch (6.10Mt)> needle (2.70Mt)> fruit (2.37Mt)> bark (1.70Mt). The carbon storage in differentorgans is different, in which the trunk carbon storage is the maximum12.38M t (50.35%), and the bark is theminimum only0.831Mt (3.38%). The total carbon storage of layer vegetation is34.91Mt. The carbon storage ineach layer is different: the tree layer (24.59Mt)> the shrub layer (8.26Mt)>the herb layer (2.06M t). The totalcarbon density of Mt. Pinus taiwanensis vegetation layer is54.54t/hm~2and it differs in each layer: the treelayer (38.43t/hm~2)> the shrub layer (12.90t/hm~2)> the herb layer (3.21t/hm~2).The standing crop of the litterlayer is only7.63Mt. Its carbon storage is4.02Mt and the carbon density is6.27t/hm~2.The carbon content of soillayer is36.34g/kg, but it differs on the elevations, slope and soil depth. With the elevations rising, the carboncontent appears decreased first increase after and then decreased again. So carbon content in the south slope ismore than that in the north slope. The carbon content is decreased as the soil depth increasing. The total carbonstorage of soil layer is1.0033million t, which in the south slope is more than in the north slope. The carbonstorage is decreased first increased after and then decreased again, with the elevation rising. The increasing of soildepth reduces the carbon storage. The whole soil carbon density is156.77t/hm~2.The Pinus taiwanensis carbonstorage in Daiyun Mountain is139.26M t: soil layer (100.33Mt)> vegetation layer (34.91M t)> litter layer(4.02M t). The carbon density is217.59t/hm~2: soil layer (156.78t/t/hm~2)> vegetation layer (54.54t/hm~2)>litter layer (6.28t/hm~2).2、The space distributionAs the elevation rising, the carbon storage of vegetation layer shows the trend of decreasing first increasingafter and then decreasing again. The carbon storage of litter layer shows the trend from increasing to decreasing.The soil layer shows the trend from decreasing to increasing. The slope direction differ the carbon density andcarbon storage in different layers. The carbon storage (7.267M t) of south slope is more than in north slope(66.59M t) and the carbon density is the same way. But the carbon storage of vegetation layer and litter layer innorth slope is more than in south slope. The slope grade differ the carbon storage and carbon density in differentlayers. Usually the bigger the slope grade, the smaller the carbon storage, and the same in reverse.3、The influction of the carbon storgeThis paper estimates the biomass and carbon storage of Daiyun Mountain and expounds the spatialdistribution pattern of carbon storage and carbon destiny.It also makes an in-depth discussion about the impactfactors,which lays a foundation for the carbon storage and carbon balance of forest system of Daiyun MountainNational Nature Reserve and provides a scientific basis for afforestation theory.
