Climate is the important factor to influence the production and layout of crops. In order to probe into the rice production climate zonings in Guangxi under the background of climate and provide theoretical basis for the reasonable layout of rice production in Guangxi, this paper would employ the geographic information system to analyze the recent50years’rice yield and the trend of climate changes in Guangxi to explore the main climate factors which influence the yield of rice in Guangxi and make climate regionalization for rice production in Guangxi. The main results are as follows:According to the rice production data of planting area, yield per unit and total yield in1951-2010in Guangxi, the planting area has been on the decline and the yield per unit and the total yield have been increasing. At the same time, the planting area and the total yield of rice have taken up larger proportion in the whole planting area and total yield of grain. But the proportion of the yield per unit of rice in the whole has no obvious change.The data of air temperature, rainfall, sunshine and others in Guangxi in1961-2010show that the change trend of Guangxi’s annual average temperature, annual precipitation,12-22℃secure trophophase and12-22℃active accumulated temperature, effective accumulated temperature are in increase, while the change trends of annual sunshine hours, daily range of air temperature and daily mean temperature which is greater than or equal to10℃are on the decline.According to rice growth’s requirement for climate in Guangxi, combined with many years’research in rice’s production, this paper analyses and confirms the key climate factors and climatic zoning indexes for rice production in Guangxi. This paper employs ArcGIS to make small grids reckoning for zoning index and finds out the climate values in grid points in different areas. Through the GIS spatial analysis and superposition method, this paper makes climatic district division for rice production in Guangxi. There are four climatic districts:the late ripe double-season rice district, middle late ripe double-season rice district, middle early ripe double-season rice district and single-season rice district. Then the paper would give comments and suggestions for this division.
