The experiment was included two parts. The first part was fermentation tests of scutellaria with bacillus subtilis, using single factor experiments and orthogonal experiments to determine factors includes the fermentation inoculum size, water content, fermentation time, to assess the effects of ferment with polysaccharide content level of fermentated skullcap. The second part was application of fermentated skullcap in piglets feeding, seting up six experimental groups, comparing the difference of ferment before and after, fermentated skullcap and antibiotic, different amounts of fermentated skullcap, analyzing effects of fermentated skullcap in piglets, determining the best dosage of fermentated skullcap.Experiment1chosing three factors to use single factor experiments, determined the best fermentation conditions as the fermentation inoculum size5%, water content45%, fermentation time4days. Because of interactions between the fermentation conditions, orthogonal experiments would determin the best fermentation conditions combination, as the fermentation inoculum size5%, water content50%, fermentation time4days. The polysaccharide contented in the fermentation is14.0%, it increased by66.7%, compared with the content of polysaccharide in original powder of Scutellaria(8.4%).It proved that the skullcap fermentation was the most fully, the efficacy of Scutellaria increased most significantly.Experiment2the optimal fermentation skullcap was applied to Piglets feeds, the experiment divided into six groups, control group, antibiotic group,0.15%unfermented scutellaria group,0.1%fermented scutellaria group,0.15%fermented scutellaria group,0.2%fermented scutellaria group, analyzing the production performances and immune factors of six groups, we found that the growth promoting effect of all experimental groups was superior to the control group, fermented scutellaria group was superior to the unfermented scutellaria group, antibiotic group was Slightly better than fermented scutellaria group,0.15%fermented scutellaria group as a whole the best. The experiment conclusions were as follows:1) Adding unfermented skullcap and fermentation skullcap could enhance weaned piglets appetite, increase feed intake, daily gain, improve feed conversion rate, and relieve diarrhea, reduce diarrhea rates. Experimental results should that the fermentation of Scutellaria was better than the original powder of Scutellaria. Comparing results of different level fermentation skullcap groups, we found that the best addition of fermentation skullcap was0.15%, it increased by12.9%,33.3%. compared with control group on feed intake and daily gain, it reduced by15.0%,30.6%on feed conversion rate diarrhea rates, it was lower than the antibiotics group.2) Adding unfermented skullcap and fermentation skullcap could affect the immune function of weaned piglets greatly, ease the weaning stress, improve the ability to resist disease, promote piglet immune function growing completely. Experimental results showed that the fermentation of Scutellaria was better than the original powder of Scutellaria, Comparing results of different level fermentation skullcap groups, we found that the best addition of fermentation skullcap was0.15%, it increased by36.8%,33.1%,22.9%,90.7%,78.3%, compared with control group on IgA, IgG, IgM, tnf-α, IL-4, it was higher than the antibiotics group on immunoglobulin index, and had no significant differenc with antibiotics group.
