Study On Nursery Technique Of Watermelon With Compressed Substrate Block

As a kind of new developed nursery technique, compressed substrate blockhas(CSB) been applied for vegetable and other crops in Ningbo and other region moreand more widely in recent years. The nursery technique of watermelon with CSB wasstudied in this thesis and main content as well as results is as follows:1. physical and chemical characters determining and analysis. The resultsindicated that CSB made in Ningbo has better capability of water absorbing andconcreting but lower organic and nutrient matter content as well as higher pH valuethan CSB made in Jilin, howerer, lower EC value is not determined and means thefertility is not worse.2. Application results and nursery effects study of different block. The resultsindicated that watermelon seedlings with CSB got better growth and physiologicalcharacters both in winter and summer experiments, the seedlings can recover morequlickly after is is transplanted and higher yield is obtained.3. nursery technique optimizing of CSB nursery. The effects of block size,ranking mode and fill materials on watermelon seedlings growth and physiologicalcharacters was studied, the results indicated that obvious difference and be observedand generally larger growth space was propitious to get seedlings with higher quality,filling is better than no filling among blocks and took manure as filling materials isbetter than soil.4. seedlings standard and operation regulations study. The seedlings standardwith CSB and operation regulations for CSB nursery was established as well in thisthesis.
