Pinus rigida is a originated in the Americas. It has many excellent features, in particular has a strong suckering, it is found only sprout force conifer, cutting propagation of favorable conditions. In this study, the author took Pinus rigida’s branch as the cutting materials, then carried out the breeding experiments with three different kinds of medium (1.yellow subsoil;2.vermiculite;3.yellow subsoil:sand (volume ratio as2:1))and four different kinds of processing(1.GGR;2.soaking in warm water;3.washing in running water;4.CK) for cuttings and the change of many nutrients, inhibitory substances and oxidizing enzyme activity in the process of rooting. At The same time, the author studied the anatomical observation on sprout tillers of Pinus rigida, finally reached the following conclusions:1.Observed by dissecting Pinus rigida bud structure, discovered bud primordia from the pith surrounding pine bud structure, and can germinate multiple shoots in with a pith, which can be explained by the Pinus rigida has a strong suckering ability. The impact of the number of the sprout after truncation. From point of view that the different height of truncation:80cm(43.7)>60cm(21.4)>40cm(10.5).From point of view that the different sprout position:the sprout in the nodules(43.7)>the sprout in the bark(29.9)>the sprout in the leaf axils(1.7).2.The cuttings which in the different cutting medium and in the different processing, the highest rooting rate was35%,the lowest wais0%.The Pinus rigida was a difficult rooting species. The cutting medium affected the rooting rate, the root quality and the sprout quality. The most suitable medium for cottage was yellow subsoil. The subsequence of rooting rate in the cutting medium from high to low was as follow yellow subsoil(24.17%)> yellow subsoil:sand (volume ratio as2:1)(14.8%)> vermiculite(1.04%).we suggested taking yellow subsoil as the standard matrix for the Pinus rigida’s cuttings. The different processing was good for cuttings, the rooting rate of the cutting which soak in warm water was highest. The subsequence of rooting rate in the cutting medium from high to low was as follow soaking in warm water(18.90%)> washing in running water(16.94%)>GGR (15.28%)> CK(2.22%).Compared with the control group, the rooting and sprouting quality of the cutting which wash in running water was best. As for the quality of roots, the best processing was washing in running water, followed by soaking in warm water, GGR, and worst was CK.3.The dynamic changes of cutting nutritional substances, inhibitory substances and oxidizing enzyme activity were related to the rooting processes closely. The contents of protein, soluble sugar, the ratio of C/N, C/T and the activity of IAAO in cuttings were positively(the correlation coefficient were respectively0.778,0.927,0.719,0.956,0.476).But the contents of Tannic and the activity of POD in cuttings were negatively(the correlation coefficient were respectively-0.336,-0.842). The trend of these mainly physiological indicators would be changed at those important periods of rooting processes.
