The performance of laminating equipment in inter-row mulching planter determines the mulching quality and affects the growing condition, eventually the yield of crops; where, the structure of main components and the assembly position between them, especially the size of squeeze-film wheel and the trenching depth have great effect on this performance. In this study, Pro/E and AutoCAD were used to design all the components of2MBY-1inter-row mulching planter and experiments were done after these components were manufactured and installed together. According to the "JB/T7732.2-1995Experimental Methods for Film Laminating Machine", the diameter and width of the squeeze-film wheel and the trenching depth were selected as the influence factors. Lots of orthogonal experiments were done to evaluate the mulching quality of laminating equipment with the arithmetic average deviation and the maximum difference of the film margins, the width of the lighting surface, and the distance between seed and film border used as the evaluation standards. After analysis for these experiments, the effect laws of experimental factors on the evaluation standards were indicated, and the optimum combination of single-index experimental factors was gained through the Range Analysis and Variance Analysis. In addition, a conclusion was obtained using the Integrated Balance Method that when the squeeze-film wheel diameter is250mm, the squeeze-film wheel width is30mm and trenching depth is70mm, the average deviation and maximum difference of the film were lower, the lighting surface was lager, and the distance between seed and film border was about to30mm.
