The dissertation chooses the2009’s sun-cured yellow tobacco from Gonghui, Babu district, HezhouCity, which include five grades (B2,B3,C2,C3,X1) as sample and then evaluates their appearancequality, chemical components, aroma material and smoking quality evaluation. With the application ofgrey correlation degree analysis in the relationship of sun-cured yellow tobacco’s appearance quality,chemistry components and smoking quality, the dissertation finds that the degree with green and thethickness of sun-cured yellow tobacco has the most impact on sugar content; thickness and plant partshave the most impact on nitrogenous content; The maturity and parts of sun-cured yellow tobacco havethe most impact on the score of smoking evaluation; nicotine, potassium and chlorine have the mostimpact on the score of smoking evaluation. The dissertation analyzes chemical components differencesof Hezhou sun-cured yellow tobacco and flue-cured tobacco with paired samples test. And it finds thatthe sugar content of Hezhou sun-cured yellow tobacco is less than that of flue-cured tobacco, while thenitrogen content and the nicotine content is higher than that in flue-cured tobacco, chlorine content andnitrate content is much higher than that of flue-cured tobacco. The percentage of neophytadiene inaroma of sun-cured yellow tobacco is much lower than that of the flue-cured tobacco, while thepercentage of carotenoid degradation products, organic acids, alcohols, and other aroma is significantlyhigher than that of the flue-cured tobacco.Secondly, the dissertation studies that the appropriate aging period of sun-cured yellow tobacco is24to30month for upper tobacco leaf and about18month for the lower tobacco leaf after30monthsaging test. The dissertation does the tobacco blend test with aged sun-cured yellow tobacco to find itseffect on reducing tar and relieving harm. The dissertation finds that cigarettes with sun-cured yellowtobacco have a significant reducing of the puff number in mainstream smoke indicators, a significantincrease in the amount of nicotine and an unobvious change in tar, a significant increase of ammoniacontent in the hazardous substances, a significant reduction of phenol and crotonaldehyde content.Therefore the hazard index is significantly reducing.The C2level sun-cured yellow tobacco, when added into high price cigarette blend with a ratio of4-6%, has no significant effect on cigarette sensory quality total score. After storage for24hour andblended into flue-cured tobacco, sun-cured yellow tobacco can reduce its smoke, decrease impurities,achieve a better processing effect, and make the sensory quality meet the needs of high pirce cigarettes.Altogether, Hezhou sun-cured yellow tobacco has characteristics of similar aroma like flue-curedtobacco, abundant aroma, moderate strength and a comfortable taste. When mixed in the blend of highprice cigarettes appropriately, it can enrich the aroma of cigarette, decrease cigarette hazard index andincrease the value of raw materials after grouping process.
