From2007to2011, the appearance of tobacco leaf quality, physicalproperties, chemicalcomposition, gas and smoking appraisal of flue-cured tobacco from bases of Shandong industrialCo.LTD. in different regions of Fjian province as experimental materials were analyzed. In order tounderstand the current quality situdtion of tobacco leaves. the quality characteristics of tobacco leavesand industrial availability in Shandong. So we can provide not only improvement opinions and technialindicators for tobacco quality but also theoretical basis for establishing tobacco leaf quality evaluationsystem.The main results are shown as in follows:1. The analysis to the appearant quality of tobacco leaves in the different regions showed that upperleaves had good maturity and a little slight of tobacco body, and more orange in color, a bit of oil, loosein leaf structure and a middle of colority,the appearance of quality conforms to the quality requirementbasically,middle leaves had better maturity, more orange to yellow in color, rich in oil, loose in leafstructure and a middle of colority。From the compliance rate of appearant quality in middle and lowleaves,we can come to the conclusion that the appearant quality of longyan tobacco leaves is the best inthree regions.2. Chemical composition analysis shows that, Fujian Longyan base, Nanping base and base of thedifferent parts of Sanming Tobacco Samples of chemical components of total sugar, reducing sugar,nitrogen content, potassium content, chlorine content and nicotine content in the suitable range, however,low chlorine content and nicotine content of potassium content of tobacco, middle and lower part of thesample, can be improved through the improvement of cultivation techniques.. On the whole, thechemical components of tobacco leaves in the different positions of tobacco were up to the standard ofthe high-quality leaves.3. Smoking results indicated that aroma quality and amount of tobacco leaves of the same grade inthree regions were quite different. Compared with the other two regions, aroma quality and amount oftobacco leaves in longyan was low. Among them, the aroma quality and amount of tobacco in middleang upper leaves was higher,but the aroma quality and amount of tobacco in lower leaves wassignificantly insufficient in three regions. The tobacco leaves of various positions in nanping hadinsufficient aroma and offensive smell. The aroma Profile of Fujian tobacco leaf belongs fen-flavortype through analyzing.4. Stability of content of chemical components of tobacco in main producing areas in Fujian wasanalyzed, and the results showed that it fluctuate during five years. Content of total sugar and reducingsugar increases slowly, and content of total sugar nicotine and total nitrogen keep basically stability, thecontent of potassium have certain fluctuations in later years. The content of chlorine and the ratio ofsugar/nicotine fluctuate in large range, and is relatively higher, which is coincide with the peculiarity ofFujian tobacco.5. Flavor of CB-1tobacco varieties is partial clear, the flavor of K326is partial concentrated, the flavor of Y87lower leaves is partial cleart, middle leaves is clear bias mostly, the upper is middle flavormostly; CB-1should be used alone as its quality characteristics, the quality of Y87l ower leaves ofNanping is close to that of Longyan, can replace; K326tobacco flavor are concentrated partial, shouldnot be mixed with the other two varieties.In summary, viewed from the demands of appearance quality, Physieal physieal charaeteristic,chemicai components,smoking components, the result of smoking of flue-cured tobacco and Stabilityof the quality of tobacco leaves, the results showed above indicated that Fujian flue-cured Tobaccoaccords with the demands for materials of ‘Taishan’ Cigarette.
