This paper based on ArcGIS.3S technology and other software platforms, according to the TM images, rainfall data. DEM, soil data; calculate each factor of the Universal Soil Loss Equation USLE in ArcGIS. get the thematic maps of each factors. After algebra compute the multiplication of each factor according to the USLE equation, get the raster data of soil erosion. Finally, according to the soil erosion classification and the grading standards, classification the raster data to get the risk picture of soil erosion.According to the soil erosion risk picture, know that the overall risk of soil erosion in Poyang Lake region is in a very low level, by comparing the2000and2010soil erosion risk maps, found that part of very low risk level areas transform to low, medium, high risk. Focusing on prevention and remediation the medium, high risk zone, treat them as key areas of soil and water maintain to control the soil erosion risk of Poyang Lake region. By comparing the Poyang Lake region’s land use of2000and2010, found that the woodland and the residents are increasing, the paddy fields and the dry fields are reducing, especially the dry fields, with a decrease of28.47%. Finally, studies the relationship between the level and slope of soil erosion risk:the low risk area of soil erosion mainly focused on a slope less than5°, the medium level of risk is most in the range of8°-15°, up to36%; the high level risk mostly in the range of15°-25°.
