The vegetable leafminer, Liriomyza Blanchard, is a serious pest of vegetable cropsin greenhouses and fields. In this study, the occurrence of L. sativae and influence factors thatinfluenced the population were studied in Xining Area. In addition, we conducted some fieldtests by using biological agents. In summary, we sum up an effective method to control L.huidobrensis population in Xining Area, and we found that this method could achieve bettereconomic benefits, social benefits and ecological benefits. The results were shown as follows:L. sativae populations appear two peaks every year in Xining Area, the first peak is inMay and June, and the second peak is in early October, The first peak is significantly higherthan the second peak. We found that the longevity of adults was different between male andfemale, and the female adults lived longer (10-13d) the than male adults (6-9days).Soil humidity had a significant effect on the growth span of L. sativaepupae and emergence. The developmental period of pupae was shortest and the emergencerate was highest under the30%soil relative humidity.Investigation of the resistance of the native vegetable species showed that the mostresistant tomato variety is Mao Fen1, followed by the bean variety Lvlongjiadou,Eggplantvariety Dalong, pepper varieties Ledouchanglajiao and Hangjiao5bean variety Shuangfeng2;and the bean variety Shuang Feng1is the most sensitive species. We conducted several field efficiency tests by using several biological agents, and theresults showed that avermectin was the most effectine ingericide in the field, followed bycapsaicin, matrine, azadirac htin, veratridine and rotennone. The results indicated that when pesticides were applied with yellow sticky cards the yieldof cucumber was4325kg/667m2, which was higher than control by1375kg/667m2, and thisfigure was higher than applied pesticides or yellow plates only by300-600kg/667m2. Basedon the above results,an IPM program was developed.
