Chain trencher has become the new trenching machinery because of its efficient,energy-saving and practical characteristics. Trenching device is the most important partof chain trencher, and its performance directly affects the work efficiency of the chaintrencher. Currently, production of our country for chain trencher is still in the stage ofimitating foreign products. There is still a big gap between our products and foreignsimilar products because of our lack of independent research and development capacity,In this background, the trenching device of chain trencher are researched as follows inthe thesis:Research the working principle for the trenching device of chain trencher on thebasis of understanding the basic structure of chain trencher. Determine the designparameters of the chain trencher according to the construction requirements.Kinematics and dynamics analysis were carried for the trenching device of the chaintrencher. The resistance of soil cutting by chain cutter is calculated by empiricalformula. Design the key components of the trenching device after determining thebasic parameters of chain trencher, including ditching chain, the working arm,dumping equipment, etc. The three-dimensional modeling of parts of the trenchingdevice was completed by three-dimensional modeling software UG, and assemblydrawing was completed after the assembly of parts.Linear static structural analysis for the trenching device of the chain trencher wascompleted by finite element analysis software called ANSYS Workbench. Afterloading and solving, the results of finite element analysis came out. The stress andstrain distributions of trenching device were shown directly which provides the theorybasis for the improvement of trenching device. The stress and strain distributions oftrenching device, provides the theory basis for the improvement of trenching device.Analysis results show that the maximum equivalent dangerous point of the equipmentof the chain trencher is much less than the yield strength, so the equipment is in linewith the strength requirements.Further study on the structural dynamics of trenching device of the chain trencherwas completed by finite element analysis software ANSYS Workbench, includingmodal analysis and harmonic response analysis. Firstly, we obtain the natural frequencies and the corresponding vibration modes for the trenching device of thechain trencher by modal analysis of the trenching device of ditching machine. Takinginto account the motion of chain transmission, the harmonic response analysis for thetrenching device of the chain trencher provides a basis for the expansion of theoperating frequency range of the trencher, to provide a guarantee for futureoptimization.For further study of the mechanism for cutting chain, the indoor soil bin test wasalso used to master the chain cutter and soil cutting resistance changes under thedifferent cutting speed, the theoretical results were verified. The results show that thetraction resistance of the cutting chain was increased gradually with the passage oftime and the finally became a stable value. The traction resistance of the cutting chainwas gradually increased with the increase of trenching speed, which has little effect ontraction resistance. Finally, the test results and the theoretical results were contrast toresearch on error sources.
