In order to increase the effective use of green waste and improve the quality of growing substrate,2kinds of ameliorant, including bamboo vinegar and maifan stone, were applied into green waste compost substrates, substrate pH, EC and seed germination parameters were measured as screening to screen out their proportioning for effectively ameliorating growing substrate. To examine the ameliorating growing substrate results, we conduct an experiment to test the adaptable plants of ornamental plant Asplenium nidus in different treatments. At last, some or all of the alternative which made from improvement green waste compost products are used to replace peat substrate for flower culture. The results were as follows;(1) The results showed that the addition of bamboo vinegar and maifan stone decreased pH value and EC of green waste compost substrates effectively. Compared with the control, bamboo vinegar and maifan stone addition made1.15-1.20decrease in growing substrate pH and1839-2076μ S/cm decrease in growing substrate EC. The bamboo vinegar and maifan stone had very significant effect on seed germination, which made germination percentage, germination energy, germination index and vigor index, increased largely. The treatments of applying bamboo vinegar and maifan stone promoted seedling growth, and also increased chlorophyll contents, which accordingly had the root weight, root length and seedling weight increased. The treatment of applying500ml-kg-11000times dilution bamboo vinegar+40gkg-1maifan stone to the green waste compost substrates has the best effect.(2)The results of planting Asplenium nidus in different improvement green waste compost substrate showed that the addition of bamboo vinegar and maifan stone affected the physical characteristics not significantly, but significantly increased the content of substrate total N、total P、total K、available N、 available P、available K、available Cu、available Fe、available Zn. Plant growth was greatest with improvement medium, and total biomass, plant height, crown diameter、chlorophyll and plant nutrients were greater than the control treatment. The root length in improvement medium was lower than the control treatment within the diameter of0mm-2.0mm, in contrast, improvement medium were significantly higher than the control treatment within the diameter of>2.0.0mm.The treatment E of applying500ml·kg-11000times dilution bamboo vinegar+40g·kg-1maifan stone to the green waste compost substrates has the best effect on plant growth.(3) Some or all of the alternative which made from improvement green waste compost products (applying500ml·kg-11000times dilution bamboo vinegar+40g·kg-1maifan stone) are used to replace peat substrate for Asplenium nidus and Anthurium scherzerianum school Com culture. The total porosity、water-holding porosity and aeration porosity in T2-T5(20%-80%V) were better than T1(CK)and T6(100%), The pH and EC were increasing along with the increased proportion of improvement green waste compost products, but all the treatments (TI~T6) achieve the requirement of plant growth. The total biomass, plant height, crown diameter in T2-T6were greater than the control treatment on the cultivation of Asplenium nidus. The fresh biomass、fresh leaf weight、fresh root weight、chlorophyll and the number of spathes in T2-T6were bigger than TI on the cultivation of Anthurium scherzerianum school Com. It can be seen that green waste compost products undertaken a certain improvement can replace all of the original peat to cultivate Asplenium nidus and Anthuhum scherzerianum school Com culture, and20%~80%improvement green waste compost products as peat substitute were best.
