This paper aims to the exploitation process of Xinjiang’s railway construction in desert region. This exploitation has caused a series of ecological problems such as wind erosion and sand hazard, which has gradually developed to a totally new topic in recent years’railway construction. So it is very important to predict the harm, mechanism, the movement and the degree of wind erosion (erosion modulus).According to the large construction projects:the railway from Hongliu river to Naomao lake in Xinjiang province, this paper tries to find the wind erosion rules and discuss methods of predicting during railway construction.(1) different railway projects have different influence on soil erosion, such as the roadbed project, the field engineering, bridges and temporary works.(2) the sand movement rule of embankment analyzes the law of wind speed, the relationship between the wind speed and sediment discharge on different section of embankment, and structural feature of wind-drift sand as well as the corrosion features on differe embankment section.(3) this paper aims to analyze the influence factors of soil wind erosion, and trying to build the prediction model of wind erosion modulus based on the mathematical model.(4) according to the model deduced from the case of Hongnao railway projection, affirmation and results of some influence factors can be calculated. These influence factors includes weather, soil erosion resistance, surface roughness, surface coverage and terrain.
