As one of typical southwestren carbonate region,Chongqing has vast carbonate rock outcrop area. It engender a lot of rocky desertification ecologically fragile areas beacuse of a series of natural and man-made factors.Rocky desertification area covers an area of1/10in Chongqing.These areas often converse vegetation succession, ecological degradation, which socio-economic development is restricted.Rocky desertification control tasks are realistic and urgent, and the rocky desertification ecological restoration as the primary means of rocky desertification control is of great significance.Priority of the rocky desertification ecological restoration is to restore the vegetation cover, which requires the introduction of appropriate pioneer vegetation.As Chongqing rocky desertification area indigenous trees,Jdesia polycarpa maxim natural distributed in the wild.Idesia polycarpa maxim has good soil fixation ability as its exuberant lateral root system, can also grow in the shallow soil;it has good ecological functions expected for ecological restoration of rocky desertification area, which of lush foliage, forest canopy density, can effectively reduce the erosion of precipitation on the surface;moreover, the Idesia polycarpa maxim oil has high edible quality after refining.The unsaturated fatty acid of Idesia polycarpa maxim oil is much higher than the rapeseed oil and soybean oil,and it has excellent nutritional and health value to human body.The Idesia polycarpa maxim oil can also be converted to biofuel after refining, which are considered to have high potential for the development of biomass as its combustion quality reached the U.S. biodiesel standards.More and more enterprises invested into The Idesia polycarpa maxim cultivation and application development ranks,as its very considerable potential applications are being recognized by the academia and the market.This article try to make a preliminary study of ecological adaptability of Idesia polycarpa maxim in rocky desertification environment by setting introduction experiment in experimental zone,and try to offer some theoretical reference to Idesia polycarpa maxim cultivation and application in rocky desertification region.This article comes up with the following conclusions on the basis of site conditions analysis, phenological observations, ecological adaptability contrast and analysis in experimental zone of rocky desertification:(1)Idesia polycarpa maxim can germinate in the the typical Karst mountain environment, and its survival rate can be of more than90%when habitat conditions is slightly better;(2)The ecological adaptation performance of Idesia polycarpa maxim has highly positive correlation with soil and water conditions, when it has thick soil and good moisture conditions, the Idesia polycarpa maxim has a good performance;on the contrary when soil is thin, dry and barren;(3)The growth rhythm of Idesia polycarpa maxim was obvious seasonal, from April to June is the peak growth period, from August to September decreased significantly.High temperature and drought stress of rocky desertification environment can significantly reduce the survival rate of Idesia polycarpa maxim, therefore the management and protection needed to be strengthened in the summer drought;(4)Idesia polycarpa maxim can significantly enhance its adaptability to harsh environments when planted with appropriate vegetation species, especially when mixed with liana or herbage vegetation with high surface coverage.This paper discussed the cultivation and application mode of Idesia polycarpa maxim of rocky desertification area in Chongqing,which expounds the enterprises&collective&farmers collection development model helps to reduce the risk and cost of the pre-development, easily to spread and makes intensive benefit.
