Through studying the effect of compound radix astragal on the immune organs index, immunoglobulin’s, complement, antioxidant levels of AA broiler chicken, the experiment provided thesupport of theory and data for the development and utilization of feed additives depending on the theoryof traditional Chinese veterinary medicine. In this study240one-day old broiler chickens were randomly divided into four groups. Each groupwas repeated three times. Each repeat has20chickens. The feeding time was42days. The chickens inthe control group were just fed with basal diet. But chickens in experimental groups were respectivelyfed with0.5%compound additives diet,1%compound additives diet and2%compound additives diet. Each group choose nine health chickens with similar weight for blood collection in7d,14d,21d,28d,35d and42d. The chickens were slaughtered and bursa of fabric us, spleen, thymus were weighted afterdrying blood with filter paper. And the index of immune organs was calculated. IgG, IgA, IgM, C3andC4in serums were measured by lmmunoturbidimetry. T-AOC, T-SOD, GSH-PX, MDA and CAT weredetected by spectrophotometry. The results showed as follows:1The immune organ index were significantly increased through adding a certain compoundadditives, especially the spleen index and thymus index in1%and2%dose groups were notablysignificantly different(P<0.01).2The content of immunoglobulins and the level of antibody were significantly increased thoughadding cretin compound additives. Comparing with control group, the content of C3、C4in0.5%dosegroup was significantly increased(P<0.05), while in1%and2%dose group was notablysignificantly(P<0.01), and it indicated that the additives could improve the immunity.3The antioxidant capacity was significantly increased through adding a certain compoundadditives. Comparing with control group, the content of MDA in0.5%dose group was significantlylower than control group(P<0.05); the content of MDA in1%,2%dose group were notably significantlydecreased(P<0.01); the content of GSH-PX in each dose group was significantly increased(P<0.05);The content of T-SOD in1%and2%dose group was significantly increased (P<0.05), while in0.5%dose group was not significantly different (P>0.05); the content of T-AOC in every dose group wasnotably significantly higher than control group(P<0.01).Conclusion: The immune organ index, the content of IgA, IgG, IgM, C3and C4, the activity of CAT, T-AOC, GSH-Px and SOD could be significantly increased when fed with1%compound RadixAstragali diet. While it could decrease the content of MDA.
