Lonicera macranthoides Hand.-Mazz is one of the most important medicinal plant.Soil salinization, a main abiotic stress, profoundly affects the ecological environment and reduces yield of productivity, and reduces yield of Lonicera macranthoides Hand.-Mazz.In this study, we report new insight into the function of ABA in Lonicera macranthoides Hand.-Mazz seedlings under salt stress, and its underlying mechanism in Lonicera macranthoides Hand.-Mazz seedlings.In summary, ABA, a phytohormone, mediates resistance to salt stress by regulation of salt-resistence mechanism. Furthermore, we may provide theory reference for its cultivation under adversity stress and a novel tool for engineering salt-resistance Lonicera macranthoides Hand.-Mazz in breeding programs.The possible effects of ABA on the growth and physiological and biochemical of Lonicera macranthoides Hand.-Mazz seedlings under200mmol/L NaCl stress in solution culture were studied and a common cultivar "Yulei No.1" was used. And the possible effect of Ca2+、 EGTA、 DPI on protective enzyme and NADPH oxidase of Lonicera macranthoides Hand.-Mazz seedlings were studied. The results were showed below:1. Exogenous abscisic acid significantly decreased the content of malondialdehyde (MDA), increased contents of chlorophyll, soluble sugar, soluble protein, root oxidation ability and activities of protected enzymes such as peroxidase(POD), catalase (CAT) and superoxide dismutase (SOD). It is proposed that exogenous abscisic acid as chemical activator could induce salt resistance and decrease alleviate damage degree of salt stress of Lonicera macranthoides Hand.-Mazz seedings, which0.5mmol/L ABA is the best for Lonicera macranthoides Hand.-Mazz seedlings.2. Ca2+increase SOD, CAT, NADPH oxidase activity more significant than ABA, EGTA significantly inhibited the activity of CAT, SOD, NADPH oxidase of the Lonicera macranthoides Hand.-Mazz. The activity of CAT, SOD, NADPH oxidase did not recover under EGTA+ABA treatment. It suggests that the ABA has no significant effect on improving the activity of protective enzymein in the absence of lacking Ca2+.3. DPI significantly inhibited the activity of CAT, SOD, NADPH oxidase of the Lonicera macranthoides Hand.-Mazz. And the activity of CAT, SOD, NADPH oxidase did not recover under EGTA+ABA treatment.
