Objective To summarize the experience of diagnosis and treatment in solid-pseudop-apillary tumor of pancreas (SPT).Method Retrospectively analyzed the clinical and pathological data of25patientswith SPT who were treated in Fujian medical university Union Hospital from2007February to2011June.Results there are25patients with SPT, including20women and5men. the averageage was38.0±15.2years (11-64years). the first symptoms were abdominal pain orfinding the abdominal mass from routine examinations. The lesions were located inthe head of pancreas in8patients, in the neck-body in1patients, in the body in5patients, in the body-tail in7patients and in the tail in4patients. The lesions showedlow or mixed densities on CT and showed low or mixed signal intensities on TlWIand high or mixed signal intensities on T2WI. On post-contrast scan, solid portionswere delayed enhancement in16/25cases, and slight enhancement in7/25cases, butcystic portions were never enhanced. Local excision was performed in6cases,pancreas segmental resection was performed in7cases,including distal parcrea-tectomy in4cases, Segmental head of pancreas resection, pancreaticojejunostomyand Roux-en-Y choledochjejunostomy in one cases and Segmental pancreatectomyand pancreaticojejunostomy in2cases, extanded radical excision was performed in12cases, including pancreaticoduodenectomy in5cases, distal pancreatectomy andspleen resection in6cases,distal pancreatectomy and peripancreas and pelvis metas-tatic lesion resection in one case. The mean follow-up period was23.5±14.2months,no evidence of recurrence or metastasis in these cases was found. Conclusions Solid-pseudopapillary tumor of pancreas was one of neoplasm with lowmalignant potential, affecting primarily young women, There are some characteristicson CT and MRI findings of SPT, Surgical resection is the mainstay of treatment, and complete resection of the tumor based on the individual choice of reasonable surgerymethods can almost result in eradication and good prognosis.
