Evaluation On The Medium Term Clinic Results Of Two Treatments Of Nutcracker Syndrome

Objectives: To assess the medium term therapeutic value and extension value of two treatmentsfor nutcracker phenomenon: left renal vein endovascular stent placement and leftvenaspermatica-left inferior epigastric vein shunted.Methods: Collected the cases information of the patients with NCS who had be treated in ourhospital from January2004to December2007, divided them into two groups. Group A: thepatients who had accepted the treatment of left renal vein endovascular stent placement therapy;group B: the patients who had accepted left venaspermatica-left inferior epigastric vein shuntedtherapy. Invited them came back to review in our hospital for free, and collected review datas.Hospitalization time, hospitalization costs, postoperative improvement of symptoms,postoperative complications, and patient satisfaction data had be compared between the twogroups.Results: There were41cases had be collected finally, included24cases in group A, and17casesin group B. Compared the aspects of age, medical history, clinical symptoms and other generalinformation and preoperative ultrasonography diagnostic data of the two groups showed nostatistically significant difference (P>0.05). LRV compression condition of the patients ingroup A had got notable improvement, and diameter of narrow part had by wide, blood flow hadbeen slow down. Hematuria, proteinuria, varicocele and other symptoms had been completelycured or relieved. There had not improved in the LRV compression condition in Group B aftersurgery, but the speed of blood flow in the narrow part of LRV had reduced, the improvement ofpreoperative symptoms were also satisfactory. Patients in group A had shorter hospital stay, lesspostoperative complications, but their total expenses were more than in group B. The statisticallydifference of the two groups in the medium term therapeutic effect and complications were notsignificant (P＞0.05).Conclusion: Both left renal vein endovascular stent placement therapy and leftvenaspermatica-left inferior epigastric vein shunted therapy are good methods to treat NCS,medium term effect is satisfied and worth to be popularized.
