Objective: To observe MRI and~1H-MRS presentation and analyze the metabolism condition ofacute ischemic rhabdomyolysis animal model in rabbit. Then we evaluate the value of earlydiagnosis of MRI and H-MRS on acute ischemic rhabdomyolysis.Method: Hindlimb rhabdomyolysis models were established on30New Zealand white rabbits.Then GE signa HD1.5T System and3-inch surface coil (as receiving coil) were used at bothpreoperation and8-hours-postoperation to perform routine MRI sequencing (Standard AxisT2-weighted Imaging) and STEAM sequencing. Spectrums of T2WI and single volume~1H-MRS of vastus lateralis were obtained. The spectrum was then analyzed by SAGE software.Tissue located and scanned by MRS was then performed biopsy and pathological section. Afterall, all the metabolites peak values and AUC at both preoperation and postoperation werestatistically analyzed.Results:(1) Acute ischemic rhabdomyolysis animal model were successfully established onrabbit hindlimb.(2) The MRI results showed ischemic vastus lateralis signal of T2WI of themodeling group are patchy, and are increased comparing with the control group.(3)The~1H-MRS results showed the glycogen peak value (t=3.072, p<0.01) and the AUC (area undercurve)(t=3.153, p<0.01) of the modeling group are significantly decreased, comparing with thecontrol group. The lipids and lactic acid peak value (t=2.256, p<0.05) and the AUC (t=2.397,p<0.05) of modeling group are significantly increased as well, comparing with the controlgroup. There is no significant difference on both creatinine peak value and AUC between themodeling group and the control group.Conclusion: MRS imaging might analyze metabolites such as glycogen, lipid and latic acid,and creatinine concentration in muscular cells in acute ischemic rhabdomyolysis inhemi-quantitive level. Our study provided experimental data and evidence for clinicalmonitoring and the early diagnosis on rhabdomyolysis.
