Life Quality Analysis Of Lung Cancer Patients Before And After Chemotherapy First Time

objectives:The aim of the study was to investigate the lung cancer patients’quality of life and Chemotherapy curative effect in the period of chemotherapy (before chemotherapy and after chemotherapy),and explore the correlations among the quality of life and psychological condition.Methods:This study applied descriptive study design,recruited95lung cancer inpatients in a hospital of Hangzhou from May to November in2009.This study investigate the patients’quality of life by Quality of Life Instruments for Cancer Patients-LungCancer(QLICP-LU) and assessment the patients’psychological condition by hospital and anxiety depression scale(HADS) before and after chemotherapy. The data Was analyzed with software SPSS(version17.0).Results:①The mean total score of patients’quality of life of the chemotherapy patients with lung cancer (160.81±14.50) after chemotherapy was higher than the mean total score of patients’quality (146.08±14.12)before chemotherapy,and statistical differences were shown in the scores(t=-6.904, P<0.01).②The mean of the patients’ psychological condition(12.02±6.96) after chemotherapy was lower than that (15.12±6.29) before chemotherapy and there was significant difference(before chemotherapy).③There was positive correlation during the scores of the patients’ quality of life and the total score of quality of life and its every dimension(physical function(GPH)、psychological function (GPS)、social function(GSO)、common symptoms/side effects (GSS)、special module for lung cancer (SLU)), and the coefficient of correlation were-0.692(P<0.01)、-0.436(P<0.01)、-0.777(P<0.01)、-0.415(P<0.01)、-0.555(P<0.01)、-0.206(P<0.01) respectively before chemotherapy. After chemotherapy the above variable also shown the positive correlation,and the correlation coefficient-0.692(P<0.01)、-0.436(P<0.01)、-0.777(P<0.01)、-0.415(P<0.01)、-0.555(P<0.01) respectively.④The patients with the effect of chemotherapy had a good quality of life,and the difference was statistical significance by the analysis of variance(F=35.480, P<0.01).Conclusion:①The patients’quality of life after chemotherapy was higher than that before chemotherapy,and then the psychological condition after chemotherapy was also better than that before chemotherapy.②there was the significant correlation between the score of the psychological condition and the quality of life after chemotherapy or before chemotherapy.③In this study the chemotherapy effect of the patients with the lung cancer was the better,the patients’quality of life was the higher and there was the significant linear regression between the he chemotherapy effect and the quality of life.
