| Objective: To study the clinical effects of pingchuanguben tang onstable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).Methods:60patients with stable stage of COPD were randomly dividedinto therapy group and control group. The control group received basictreatment, including oxygen therapy, and40micrograms ipratropium bromideaerosol (Atrovent aerosol) inhalation, each8hours,3times a day. Thetherapy group were received Pingchuanguben tang, a course of2months,besides the basic treatment. Befor and after treatment, Pulmonary function, six minute walk distance, dyspnea index, systolic pulmonary artery pressure, blood gas analysis, immunological parameters, nutrition indicators, the lifequality of SGRQ of all participating patients in two groups were tested andassessed. Patiens, acute exacerbations in the following6months were recoredand compared between the therapy group and control group.Result: After treatment, Patiens,FVC, FEV1and FEV1/FVC index in thetherapy group were improved (P<0.05), the6-minute walk distance wasincreased (Pï¼0.035), dyspnea index was decreased (Pï¼0.028), arterial blood gas was improved (P<0.05), pulmonary artery systolic pressure wasdecreased (Pï¼0.008), IgA, IgG and the C3, C4were increased, CD+3ã€CD+4ã€CD+4/CD+8were increased (P<0.05), the life quality score was improved (Pï¼0.012), nutrition parameters including body weight, body mass index, the firstthree muscle skin fold thickness, albumin, prealbumin were improved(P<0.05). And the acute exacerbations of COPD in the therapy group in thefollowing6months after treatment were decreased (Pï¼0.006). Additionaly, there were significant differences on the aforementioned parameters betweenthe threapy group and control group after treatment (P<0.05).conclusion: Pingchuanguben tang can improve lung function, increaseexercise tolerance, improve blood oxygen pressure, decrease pulmonaryartery pressure, improve the nutritional status and immune function, improvelife quality and reduce the acute exacerbations for the patients with stableCOPD. |
