Objective To evaluate the value of gastroesophageal reflux diseasequestionnaire (GerdQ) in the diagnosis of gastroesophageal refluxdisease(GERD), and explore a simple, practical, effective method for thediagnosis of GERD.Methods One hundred and two patients with heartburn and/or regurgitationwere included in the study and completed gastroesophageal reflux diseasequestionnaire(GerdQ) form June2011to January2012. Endoscopy and PPI trialwere used as the diagnostic standard of GERD. All patients were categorizedinto GERD group and control group according to the diagnostic standard. Thecut-off points, sensitivity and specificity of GerdQ were calculated by thereceiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve. Results The one hundred and two patients were categorized into twogroups which were GERD group with seventy-five cases and control group withtwenty-seven cases. With ROC analysis, the sensitivity was descreasingaccording to the elevation of the cut-off points. A cut-off points of nine had asensitivity of0.64and specificity of0.63with maximum Youden index of0.27 and the area under the ROC was0.61.Conclusion GerdQ is a simple, practical and effective diagnosis method ofGERD. |
