Objective: To explore the Relevance between GerdQ score and the severity of reflux esophagitis(RE). Methods: GerdQ was used to investigate the patients of reflux—related symptoms in Gastroenterology clinic. According to heartburn, reflux, abdominal pain, nausea, sleep disorders, whether taking OTC drugs 6 points to score. Using endoscopy as the gold standard for the diagnosis of RE, and compared with GerdQ scores, to analyze the distribution of GerdQ score for patients with RE which was diagnosed by endoscopy, to assess the relationship between the GerdQ score and the severity of RE. Results: A total of 1554 patients were enrolled in this study, including males are 668 cases, females are 886 cases, the ratio of male to female is 0.75:1, age range from 18 to 81 years, the mean age is(52.56 + 11.92) years old. Diagnosed by gastroscopy for RE is 664 cases, including 338 cases of males, females are 326 cases, the ratio of male to female is 1.04: 1, 234 cases of Uygur, 304 cases of Han, in 126 cases of other nations. non RE Group detected 890 cases, there were 330 males, 560 cases of females, and the ratio of male to female is 0.59:1, 248 cases of Uygur, 447 cases of Han patients, 195 cases of other nationalities, the proportion of males for the RE group significantly higher than non RE Group(χ2=29.657, P<0.01). The proportion for the RE group in Uygur were higher than Han and other ethnic groups(χ2=7.771,P<0.01;χ2=6.731,P<0.01). There was statistical significance in GerdQ RE group and non RE group(P<0.05), the differences in scores had significant correlation between the score and the occurrence of RE. GerdQ score and the severity of RE were positively correlated(P<0.01). Conclusion: The presence of esophageal mucosal injury score was significantly higher than the normal, GerdQ score was positively correlated with the severity of mucosal damage, GerdQ scale can basically reflect the severity of RE.
