AIM: To investigate the change of Dock1protein expression innon-infarcted myocardium in rats.Methods: Experimental myocardial infarction (MI) andsham-operation (Sham) in SD rats were established. Dock1proteinexpression in non-infarcted myocardium was measured by Western blot.Results: There was no difference in Dock1protein expression innon-infarcted myocardium between MI group(0.13±0.03, n=8) andSham group(0.10±0.04, n=8, P>0.05)at24h after operation, while Dock1protein expression in non-infarcted myocardium in MI group(0.17±0.04,n=8)was significantly higher than that in Sham group(0.11±0.05, n=8,P<0.05) at12week after operation. Dock1protein expression innon-infarcted myocardium was significantly increased in MI group at12week after operation compared with that in MI and Sham groups at24hafter operation respectively(P<0.05).Conclusions: There is Dock1protein expression in myocardium inrats. Dock1protein expression is significantly increased in non-infarctedmyocardium at12week after infarction. The increased Dock1protein expression could be involved in post-infarction left ventricular remodeling.
