Polygonum commonly used in clinical medicine.The drug is the dry root ofPolygonum plants, distributed in the Northeast, South, East, Southwest provinces. Modernresearch found that Polygonum contain anthraquinone, stilbene glycosides, flavonoids andother ingredients, it can promote hematopoietic function, enhanced immune function,lowering blood pressure and anti-atherosclerosis, anti-tumor, hepatoprotective, anti-aging,endocrine, laxative and so on. After processing of traditional Chinese medicine,the qualityand quantity of the internal components were changed, it would better serve the advantagesof traditional Chinese medicine. Fermentation is one important way of processing oftraditional Chinese medicine, as one of the important methods of processing, has receivedmore and more attention of the world.In this paper,12compounds were isolated from Polygonum identified and11compounds were identified as β-sitosterol (Ⅰ)physcion (Ⅱ), p-formaldehyde (Ⅲ),emodin (Ⅳ), emodin-8--A ether (Ⅴ), ω-hydroxy-emodin (Ⅵ), emodin-8-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (Ⅶ), emodin-8-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (Ⅷ),2,3,5,4′-tetrahydroxysilbene-2-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (Ⅸ), D-glucose (Ⅹ), D-mannotol(Ⅺ),in which D-mannitol (Ⅺ) for the first time to get from the herbs.In order to compare the change of pharmacological efficacy and chemicalcomposition,we first optimized by orthogonal experiments Polygonum decoction extractthe best conditions.Compare the acute toxicity of drugs and anti-tumor effect,before andafter of microbial fermentation. Research the changes of the HPLC fingerprint and thechanges of main chemical composition after fermentation, looking for the relationshipbetween the pharmacological efficacy and chemical composition changes,which provide a scientific basis for the clinical drug of Polygonum fermentation decoction and thedevelopment of traditional Chinese medicine fermentation.
