Objective: Through observing the effects of chloroform extract and water extract ofcoptis chinensis franch on body temperature, hepatic energy charge, ATP enzyme activity,thyroid hormone levels and cytokine activity, we could analysis the tendency, specialityand rule, explore the pharmacodynamic mechanism to provide better reference for clinicalmedication.Methods: Observing the body temperature change in excessive heat syndrome modelrat treated with chloroform extract and water extract of coptis chinensis franch. We coulduse chemical colorimetry spectrophotometric to detect ATP enzyme activity, use fullautomatic microplate method to detect the content of rat plasma T3, T4, TSH, TRH, IL-1β,IL-6, IL-8, TNF-α, use high performance liquid chromatographic method to determine thecontent of rat liver tissue ATP, ADP, AMP and calculate the hepatic energy charge.Results: Chloroform extract and water extract of coptis chinensis franch could reducesignificantly the body temperature of excessive heat syndrome model rat, ATP enzymeactivity and hepatic energy charge. It could inhibit the function of hypothalamus-pituitary-thyroid axis of excessive heat syndrome model rat, reduce thyroxine secretion ofexcessive heat syndrome model rat and had a certain inhibition on cytokine activity.Conclusions: Chloroform extract and water extract of coptis chinensis franch had acertain inhibition on material metabolism, energy metabolism, thyroid hormone andcytokine activity of excessive heat syndrome model rat, which provided a certain referencevalue for the therapy research and clinical applications to heat syndromes of coptis chinensis franch in the future.
