The Therapeutic Effect Of Combined Therapy Of Retinal Vein Occlusion With Yiqi Huoxue Huayu Method And Laser Photocoagulation

Objective:To observe the curative effect of laser treatment combined with Yiqi Huoxue Huayu method in the therapy of retinal vein occlusion.(RVO). Providing a new way to prevent and cure RVO by discussing the mechanism of this method.Methods:60eyes of60patients with RVO were randomly separated into2groups,31diseased eyes of31patients in combined therapy group were treated with modified Buyang Huanwu decoction and laser photocoagulation.29diseased eyes of29patients in control group were treated with only laser photocoagulation. In one month after therapy, the therapeutic effects of both groups were compared.Results:1.There was significant improvement of visual acuity in both groups, patients in therapeutic group showed statistically better results than the ones in control group(P<0.05); the effective rate was93.55%in treatment group and89.66%in control group.2. About the blood absorption, the patients in therapeutic group showed statistically better results than the ones in control group.3. About the vision improvement time, the therapeutic group was statistically better than the control group (P<0.01).4. About the improvement of macular edema, the therapeutic group was statistically better than the control group (P<0.01).5. The retina circulation time (RCT) of both groups were significant reduced after the therapy (P<0.05); and the shorten time of therapeutic group were statistically more than the one of control group (P=0.032<0.05).6. The overall effectiveness of therapeutic group ((96.77%)) was statistically better than the one of the control group (89.66%).Conclusions:1. Both treatment was effective; laser photocoagulation can reduce the capillary leakage, prevent liquid infiltrate into the macular by forming a protective screen; also, it can prevent the formation of CNV and prevent vitreous hemorrhage. Traditional Chinese medicine is benefit for the absorption of fundus hemorrhage and exudation. It can effectively prevent the retinal vein occlusion long-term complications and benefit for the treatment of recent complications. Traditional Chinese medicine combined laser therapy can play advantages of both treatment, so it can accelerate the absorption of fundus hemorrhage and shorten the process. So,The curative effect of treatment group was better than control group more.2. Laser photocoagulation could quickly improve visual acuity and shorten the course of the disease; and the traditional Chinese medicine used in the peri-operational period could facilitate blood and exudates absorption and shorten the course of treatment. So the combined treatment might be more ideal.
