Objective: To investigate the relationship between the expressions of FOXM1andMMP-9in the occurrence, progression and metastasis of hepatocellularcarcinoma. Methods: The levels of FOXM1and MMP-9were determined byimmunohistochemistry in human HCC(n=52) and normal hepatic tissueincluding adjacent tissue samples(n=34).RESULTS: The results showed that both FOXM1and MMP-9were significantlyover-expressed in HCC compared to the normal hepatic tissue. Spearmanrank correlation coefficients were used to examine the relationshipbetween FOXM1and MMP-9levels. The positive rates of the expressionof FOXM1and MMP-9were67.31%and73.07%respectively. Additionally, there was a positive correlation between the expression ofFOXM1and MMP-9in HCC.CONCLUSION: FOXM1and MMP-9might be associated with the occurrence, progression and metastasis of human HCC, therefore a potentialtarget for therapy. |
