San Ao Xiong Ting Decoction For Lung Phlegm And Heat Constraint Pattern Of COPD In Acute Exacerbation Period: Study On8-iso-PGF2α

Objective:To explore the effect of San Ao Xiong Ting Decoction on the lung phlegm and heat constraint pattern of COPD in acute exacerbation period as well as the imbalance state of oxidation and antioxidation.Methods:60cases were evenly divided into the treatment and control group. For the control group, routine treatment by Western medicine was applied. For the treatment group, San Ao Xiong Ting Decoction for oral intake was added on the basis of Western medicine. The treatment course for each group was10days. Symptom total credits, lung function, and blood8-iso-PGF2a before and after treatment of two groups were analyzed statistically.Results:Before treatment, all the indexes of the two groups have no significant difference (P>0.05). After the treatment, the clinical manifestations and symptom total credits of the treatment group are both improved and better than the control group. The total efficacy of the treatment group is obviously better than the control group (P<0.05), and the improvement is more significant for the lung function. The blood8-iso-PGF2a of the two groups are both significantly decreased, and there is significant difference between the two groups (P<0.05).Conclusion:Combination of San Ao Xiong Ting Decoction and Western medicine can improve the clinical manifestations and lung function much better, and has favorable effects on antioxidation and imbalance of oxidation and antioxidation.
