Objective:A retrospective analysis was conducted on16patients whose kneesreceived renovation treatment for infection after total knee replacementduring the past3years in the department of orthopedics of Sino-JapaneseFriendship Hospital of Jilin University,to study the related issues ofinfection after total knee replacement and technical issue of renovationtreatment for infection. We have long-term follow-up postoperative kneefunction recovery.Materials and Methods:From February2009to January2013,in the department of orthopedicsof Sin-Japanese Friendship Hospital of Jilin University,16Patientswhose knees received renovation treatment for infection after total kneereplacement were performed. Male7,female9,.Age biggest74yearsold,youngest53years old, average61.5.16cases were all postoperation of first replacement, no patella replacement, the time ofPostoperative renovated was4to25months, average13months. Thenumber of joint replacement of the first time performed in our hospitalwas12,other hospital4.The preoperative range of Joint motion of allcases was15°~95°,average47°.the score of HSS is28~68,average44.All the cases were performed through Total knee revision procedures andAntibiotic bone cement-type fixed.Method:All the cases were performed through Artificial knee joint revisionprocedures, to cure infection after total knee replacement.Hospital for Special Surgery HSS scoring system which was the most commonly used at home and abroad was employed to grade the functionof knees preoperative and postoperative. Comparison of HSS score wasemployed through SPSS system between pre-operation and post operation. Therefore we can evaluate the short-term effects of Artificial knee jointrevision procedures.Consequence:The patients were followed-up for3to28months,average of14.6months,The preoperative range of Joint motion of the16patients was15°~95°,average47°; the score of HSS was28~68,average44.Follow-up for3~28months postoperatively, the score of HSS is61~92,average80; The range of Joint motion was70°~140°. There was noobvious discomfort after revision. Each assay index showed no obviousabnormalities. On the basis of Self-conscious symptom improvement, therange of Joint motion, Active function, etc, comprehensive evaluationwas carried out and Higher satisfaction was got. According topreoperative and postoperative HSS score analysis, the results of ourstudy have statistical significance(p<0.01).Conclusion:At present artificial knee joint revision is the best method to cure thefailure of total knee replacement for infection. The individualizedsufficient preoperative preparation and postoperative systematic guidanceof functional exercises are important factors for Postoperative functionalrecover。The medical staff should improve surgical technique and asepticawareness to reduce postoperative infection rate as much as possible.
