Objective:To investigate the clinic values of the expression of apoptosis inhibitor survivin in the eutopic and ectopic endometrium as well as peripheral blood in patients with endometriosis (EMS). Meanwhile,CA-125were also detected in EMS patients and were compared with survivin. Methods:The expression of survivin in the ectopic endometrium and peripheral blood among80cases and in the eutopic endometrium in11cases of EMS patients were detected by the method of immunohistochemistry method (Envision two steps) and Enzyme-linked immunosorbent (ABC-ELISA). Meanwhile, CA125were also checked in the patients of EMS.Results:1. Positive expression of survivin manifested as brown particles were observed in cytoplasm and nucleus in eutopic and ectopic endometrium in patients with EMS, and the values of survivin expression in the eutopic and ectopic group were significantly higher than that in control group(P<0.01). No statistical significant of survivin expression were found between the eut-and ect-group (P=0.129). The expression of survivin in the normal endometrium、eutopic endometrium and ectopic endometrium were unrelated with the menstrual cycle (P>0.05).2.Survivin protein in the serum in EMS patients were higher than that in control group(P<0.01), and increased with the clinical staging of AFS, the difference of survivin in serum were significant (P<0.05) between two stage. The values of CA-125in observation group were higher than that in control group, especially in stage Ⅲ and Ⅳ (P<0.05).3.Positive correlation was observed between survivin and CA-125in the serum of endometriosis (r=0.155, r=0.316, r=0.074, r=0.111, P<0.05).Conclusions:The positive expression of survivin in eutopic, ectopic endometrium and peripheral blood in patients with EMS indicated that the survivin was closely related with the development and occurrence of EMS, and it suggested that survivin in peripheral blood of EMS patients could be detected by micro-trauma method for the purpose of assistance the diagnosis and efficacy supervision in this patients.
