ObjectiveTo investigate the expressing levers of pentraxins3(PTX3) and changes in prothrombin time (PT) in patients with sepsis, evaluate the value of PTX3and PT in the severity of sepsis. To evaluate, the correlation between PTX3and PT in patients with sepsis.MethodsSelect patients with sepsis in70cases from October2011to April2012from Zhengzhou University First Affiliated Hospital intensive care unit as the sepsis group, another the same period in our hospital screening healthy population of15cases in the control group, the gender and age in two groups showed no significant difference. Based diagnostic criteria of the2001American College of Chest Physicians/Society of Critical Care Medicine joint meeting in Washington, sepsis group were divided into two groups:sepsis group one (Patients with sepsis and failing to meet the severe sepsis diagnosis)38cases (28male,10female patients, and average age (53.74+17.45)); sepsis group two (Severe sepsis and septic shock patients)32cases (23cases of male, female9cases, mean age (52.88+20.05)). All cases were selected to collect with24h on the basis information (age, gender, vital signs, acute physiology and chronic health evaluation system Ⅱ (APACHEⅡ)score), and laboratory examination (such as blood routine, liver function, renal function, blood coagulation function, etc). Blood serum separation, save-80℃refrigerator, once thawed, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) for detecting serum PTX3level within24h.All data using SPSS17.0statistical software for processing, comparison between groups using the LSD test and single factor variance analysis, the relationship between the plasma PTX3and PT uses Spearman correlation analysis.Results1.The difference between AST and ALT sepsis group one, sepsis group two and control group was statistically significant (P<0.05).2. The plasma PTX3level of sepsis group two are (39.01±10.81ng/ml), sepsis group one are (18.98±7.16ng/ml), control group are (11.42±4.33). sepsis group one plasma PTX3levels are higher than the control group, sepsis group two plasma PTX3levels are higher than sepsis group one; between groups were statistically significant difference (P<0.05).3. The level of plasma PT of sepsis group two are (14.49±4.14sec), sepsis group one are (12.95±2.43sec), control group are (11.16±2.27sec). The plasma PT of sepsis group one are higher than the control group, sepsis group two plasma PT above sepsis group one, There are statistically significant difference between groups (P<0.05).4. Plasma PTX3in patients with sepsis are positively correlated with plasma PT (r=0.482, P<0.482).5. PTX3and APACHE Ⅱ scores of sepsis group are positively correlated (r=0.667, P<0.01); at the same time PT and APACHE Ⅱ scores are positively correlated (r=0.439, P<0.05).ConclusionsAs a marker of inflammation, PTX3can judge the severity of sepsis; As a blood coagulation index, PT can be correlated with the severity of sepsis. PTX3and PT of patients with sepsis are positively correlated.
